What to pitch

Send a concise proposal for an original article that helps readers understand a garden choice, process, plant form, material or seasonal task. A strong pitch names the question, explains why it is worth exploring and shows what the reader will be able to notice or decide afterward.

A good fit

We favour specific subjects over broad surveys, plain language over jargon and useful distinctions over universal rules. Explain what your piece can support, avoid claims that go beyond its evidence, and tell us whether any part of the proposal has appeared elsewhere or involves a commercial relationship.
